Top 20 listeners Selection, a compilation of favourite tunes as chosen by our listeners from a list I put together counting down from number 20 to 1

I just received the 2nd album “Impossible Is Nothing” by The Band Bauer, and I must say it’s just as brilliant as the first album.

Soul music (often referred to simply as soul) is a popular music genre in the African American community throughout the United States in the 1950s and early 1960s. It combines elements of African-American gospel music, rhythm and blues and jazz. Soul music became popular for dancing and listening in the United States, where record labels such as Motown, Atlantic and Stax were influential during the Civil Rights Movement. Soul also became popular around the world, directly influencing rock music and the music of Africa.

Live Radio Session Vol 01.
Pickwiz Radio Manchester Live on
We included tracks from Blondie, The Bee Gees, Chris Montez, Little Eva and may more.

We’re digging deep into our archives, I’ve included classic tunes we tend to have forgotten in this session. So, stepping back into the past and rekindling those memories.

I just received the album Sleeping Giant by Bauer, and I must say it was a breath of fresh air. The songs are unique, original and beautifully arranged it’s going to be a pleasure to add this album to Pickwiz Radio Manchester.

Classified as World Pop. the band members include Lee Bradbury (Drums), Greg Matthews (Vocals / Synth), Michael Reed (Guitars) and Neil Treppas (Bass).

Nearly nine minutes long on the album version, it was released as a single in the United States (Curtom 1974) but failed to chart. An edited version of the song spent 10 weeks in the top 50 of the UK Singles Chart in 1971, peaking at No. 12, and it has become a soul classic over the years

It was re-released in the United Kingdom as a single in July 1970, and it became a #1 hit on the UK Singles Chart for the week ending 12 September 1970.

Lay Your Love on Me” is a pop song by the British pop group Racey; it was their second single release. The song was written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, produced by Mickie Most and released in 1978 on the RAK Records label.
