Mother’s Day is a special day honouring mothers, and it’s celebrated in loads of countries throughout the world. It is also known as Mothering Sunday in the UK.
This year, it falls on Sunday 14 March.
Why is Mother’s Day different in the UK?
The date is linked to Easter in the UK, which is different each year as the lunar calendar determines it.
The UK’s Mother’s Day always falls on the fourth Sunday during Lent’s period, when people typically give up things like certain foods or bad habits for the days leading up to Easter.
